Mission
The Online Wellness Association understands that the healing professions are entering the 21st Century by building practices online to offer services. OWA recognizes the internet as a way of offering therapy worldwide, often, where there are no such supports presently available for those people in need of healing. In addition, as therapeutic practices are established on the world of the internet, OWA understands that it is important for practitioners in the healing fields to be identified as legitimate professionals.
The goal of Online Wellness Association is to become a virtual American Institute with the OWA Seal immediately offering a visual acknowledgement of SAFETY for the potential clients of online wellness practitioners. The OWA Seal offers branding as a strategy for the wellness practitioner to lend prestige and credibility to their individual practices by bonding, through implication of the OWA Seal on their site, to the potential client. The Online Wellness Association will achieve this goal by maintaining strict guidelines and procedures based on membership requirements requiring a background check, credential check, and four recent professional reference checks. The OWA Seal, like its 1909 product predecessor –The Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval--will stand for ‘quality developed through associations of reassurance and comfort’.
