Certification
All practitioners in the wellness field that apply for an OWA Membership must meet certain strict requirements designed to verify the legitimacy of the practitioner. These requirements include a background check, credentials check, and professional reference check. Upon completion of these requirements, the practitioner will receive the OWA Seal of Approval on their website and a line on their personal biography that states “In good standing with OWA”. Members also will receive a certificate to hang in their offices.
Potential clients visiting the OWA Website can be assured that it is not a simple process to earn the OWA Seal of Approval. For potential clients that visit websites displaying the OWA Seal of Approval is an indicator that the practitioner has fulfilled strict guidelines to achieve the designated OWA Seal of Approval.
Online Wellness Association understands that it is not enough to ‘verify credentials’. That is why, in order to meet membership requirements, four recent professional references must be confirmed. In order for the OWA Seal to stand for ‘quality developed through associations of reassurance and comfort’ it is vital that members are held in high esteem in their professional communities. After the credential and background checks, it becomes the peers of the applying member to assist in making the final decision to approve the member.
Random re-certifications are completed yearly. In addition, peer feedback, complaints, and other input is followed-up and held in consideration to continue membership. Any information brought to OWA attention by clients is moved to high priority for follow-up.
