Freeing Your Soul

I believe without a shadow of a doubt that we are all unique individual expressions of God that came to this planet to unfold in the realization that we are co-creators with God. I believe each of our souls have a mandate to express itself to its fullest potential The specifics of our individual soul expression is determined by our life experiences, interests and talents all seeking to add our flavor to the pot of humanity.

Coming to this lifetime we are immediately bombard with rules, laws, concepts and belief systems that oftentimes confuses us and temporarily divert us from what our souls is trying to express. We spend a huge amount of time fitting ourselves into a mold that in the beginning, may offer us relief from the pressures of appearing strange or a misfit. but as we begin to awaken to the urgings of sou,the shelter of relief begins to feel more and more like a prison. Fitting in and appeasing the demands of others become less of a priority as the souls hunger to express itself begins to rise to the surface.

As we set out to integrate our unique ideas and inspirations that come from our soul, we find that it is no easy feat. The unfoldment process is not a matter of taking a pen and paper and listing our goals, our likes and dislikes or even what we desire to manifest The unfoldment process is oftentimes a process of elimination rather than accumulation. The unfoldment of our soul can be likened to the tides that hits up against a beaches’ edge As each tide collides with the earth it eliminates objects that are not of itself and things that cannot handle the force of its currents. The ocean’s process of elimination is for the purpose of retaining its purity. As our souls expression begin to rise, there are often three impediments that keeps us from boldly stepping into our authenticity and purity.

The first of the impediments is our inability to set our own standards of living. As we reach adulthood. We know more about the ‘wrong’ things to do than what’s right for us. Our society has set this impossible standard of conformity that leaves little if any room for individual growth and expression. These external standards are so ingrained in our day to day living and choices that when left to our own devices, we find ourselves clueless. Fortunately, as we begin to understand that all laws, rules and concepts are thought forms that are not set in stone we begin to allow ourselves to experience the freedom of creating standards of living that are congruent to our inner well being.

The second impediment is all about trusting the wisdom of our soul. How many times have you second guessed a hunch or an inner prompting to do something, say something, or go somewhere? Trusting that our soul has wisdom that guides us to the next step of our unfoldment is a huge block for us. Again, from the moment we began moving and experiencing the world from an individual state of being, we were taught not to trust. So many ‘harmful’ things or ‘consequences’ have been pointed out to us that our ability to discern and experiment with our own thoughts and ideas became hampered down. We become immobilized and give more weight to the things outside of ourselves as being more real than what we feel our soul is seeking to express.

The third impediment that prevents us from living authentically is the fear of rocking the boat. Prior to our awakening, we made painstaking efforts to craft a life that suited our level of consciousness at the time. We have included people, possessions and belief systems that may or may not serves us in our now awakened state. Our ego whose purpose is to accumulate and posse puts us in the state of panic. It will have us to believe that the things, people and beliefs are the totality of who we are. So we cling tighter and tighter for fear that if we disrupt any parts of our lives, surely it would be the death of us. But in actuality, as the soul’s expression begins to take form in our outer reality, the things, people and beliefs that no longer serve our unfoldment will naturally fall away. There are times when we have to make a conscious decision to let things go but since the soul will never leave you with a void, it will be your opportunity to fill that void with a life that is more in alignment with who you really are.

Living from the soul means living from the truth of who you are. Having the courage to examine the life we have been living is the first step of freeing ourselves from the self imposed imprisonment. The next step is learning how to trust our inner urges and intuitions. And finally, taking a step out on faith to begin to experiment with our own ideas and ways of expressions.
